Mossy Willow is a farm and calming retreat with purpose. Part of the Small Giants family of businesses, we do what we do because we believe in creating the world we want to live in: a world of passion, purpose, beautiful healthy food, warmth, welcoming and hospitality.
Our journey, inspired by the self-proclaimed "lunatic farmer" Joel Salatin, takes place on 28 acres of paradise along Splitters Creek in Main Ridge. It is the brain child of Chief Small Giant Danny Almagor and former Small Giants Chief Finance Guy, Simon Matthee. After a year of dabbling on the property, Danny and Simon decided to make their vision a reality. After a lot of hard work (and fun) from workmates, family and friends over the years, Mossy Willow is now the proud purveyors of pastured eggs, ethical meat, fruits, veggies and preserves, with even bigger aims for the future.
Berry & Danny
Berry is the co-founder and Creative Director of Small Giants, the Publisher and Editor of Dumbo Feather and a mum to the three cutest kids in the world. Berry loves the gardens at the farm. Especially the roses. A few years back, Berry used to write screenplays in LA and directed a few short films but decided to come home and get married to Danny (CEO extraordinaire of Small Giants). Very good decision.
Danny is the co-founder and CEO of Small Giants, which he started with Berry, who also happens to be the mother of his three children, the creative director of Small Giants and “the most awesome person in the world” (Danny’s words). Prior to Small Giants, Danny was the founding CEO of Engineers Without Borders Australia and the CEO of Medivax. He has done some other cool stuff including being part of the team that broke the record for racing a solar car across Australia from Darwin to Adelaide. He loves reading non fiction, jumping on the trampoline with his kids and getting his hands dirty on the farm.
